1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Acuboost ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Acuboost mobile application (iOS and Android) and website acuboostapp.com. By using Acuboost, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Acuboost is a clinical decision support tool designed exclusively for licensed healthcare providers, including licensed acupuncturists. It is not intended for use by patients or the general public.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect or Store

    Acuboost is designed with privacy by default. Patient data entered during a clinical session — including name, date of birth, and symptom responses — is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to or stored on Acuboost's servers.
  

Specifically, we do not collect, store, or transmit:

Patient names or dates of birth
Patient symptom responses or questionnaire answers
Pattern recognition results or clinical summaries
PDF reports generated within the app
Any protected health information (PHI)

When a session ends or the app is closed, all session data is cleared from memory. No patient record is retained by Acuboost.

3. Information We Do Collect

3.1 Waitlist & Account Registration

If you sign up for our waitlist via acuboostapp.com, we collect your email address. This is used solely to notify you about app availability and updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.

3.2 App Usage Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics to improve the app experience. This data does not include any patient information or personally identifiable information. Examples include: app crash reports, feature usage frequency, and session duration.

3.3 Device Information

We may collect basic device information such as operating system version and device type for the purpose of ensuring app compatibility and performance. This information is not linked to any individual user or patient.

4. PDF Reports

Acuboost allows providers to generate a PDF summary of a completed session. This PDF is created and stored locally on the provider's device. Acuboost does not have access to, retain, or transmit any PDF generated by the app.

The provider is solely responsible for the secure handling, storage, and sharing of any PDF report generated through the app, in accordance with applicable laws and professional obligations.

5. HIPAA Considerations

    Because Acuboost does not store, transmit, or process protected health information (PHI) on any server, Acuboost does not function as a HIPAA Business Associate. Providers are responsible for ensuring their own use of the app complies with applicable HIPAA regulations and their professional obligations.
  

6. Provider Responsibility

Acuboost is a provider-only tool. By using the app, you represent that you are a licensed healthcare provider. You are responsible for:

Obtaining appropriate patient consent before entering any patient information into the app
Securely handling any PDF reports generated through the app
Ensuring your use of the app complies with applicable federal, state, and professional regulations

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist us in operating the app or website (e.g., analytics, email delivery), under strict confidentiality agreements
Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice to users

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any information we do collect. Because patient data is never transmitted to our servers, the risk of unauthorized access to patient information through Acuboost is minimized by design.
